Mind Body Spirit Classes

Take a deep breath . . . that’s what most women need to do. Between family and work, most of us are constantly on call, running from one crisis to the next. Stress takes its toll. Yoga, with its mindful breathing and movement provides escape from the chatter of daily life. Studies show that yoga has healthful benefits, such as lowering blood pressure and slowing the heart rate, reducing stress hormones, and boosting hormones that give you a sense of calm.

Like Yoga, Pilates develops core strength and coordination. Both improve core strength, flexibility and balance, all of which helps women achieve better posture and reduces the risk of falls for older women. Yoga and Pilates stretch muscles, ligaments, and tendons, making daily movement easier.  All Shirlee’s instructors are certified, and offer instruction for both beginning and more advanced practice. Students need to supply a yoga mat.  Comfortable and flexible clothing is recommended.


A 50 minute class designed to strengthen your core and more! We will focus on the core as a foundation of strength with essential body weight exercises to develop and strengthen the core and more. Floor workout will consist of concentrated ab, glute and back exercises followed by full body stretch.


This class is designed to increase balance, flexibility and strength with students of all levels.  Beginners, intermediate and advanced students are welcome to attend.  Students will practice together following their breath and inner experience to find the level that is perfect for them.  Modifications on poses are offered too accommodate varying levels of expertise.

Students are encouraged to listen to and honor the messages of the body and mind to determine which variation is most appropriate for them in that moment.


Pilates/Yoga mix is a body conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominal, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates’ system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.


A gentle, therapeutic style which focuses on un-doing rather then doing; props are used to support the body in order to deepen the benefits of each pose. A nurturing practice promoting conscious relaxation, creates physiological responses which are beneficial to health, well being & which can reduce the effects of stress and stress-related diseases.  Restorative yoga is an important part of any regular practice & is particularly beneficial when you feel weak, fatigued, or stressed.  It is recommended for during, & after major life events & changes.  In addition Restorative Yoga is recommended during illness or injury as well as during recovery.


TRX Pilates Mix class helps strengthening core, and working on body alignment and all its connections in between. This workout results in serious muscle strengthening, balance, expanded range of motion and calorie burning. All class levels.


This total body workout serves to strengthen, lengthen, and stretch the body from top to bottom, from inside out. Combination from ballet dance, Pilates, and light free weights result in a long and lean body!
